7 Different Type Of Speech Introductions

Without a speaker can interest his audience, his effort will be a failure. If your topic is not one of extraordinary interest, your listeners are likely to say to themselves, so what? Who cares? A speaker can quickly lose an audience if she or he does not use the introduction to get their attention and clicking their interest in getting the initial attention of your audience is usually easy-even before you utter a single word. After you are introduced, turn to your audience and they will normally give you their attention. If they do not, then patiently look towards the audience without saying a word. In a few moments all talking and physical commotion will stop. Your listeners will be attentive. You'll be ready to start speaking. Keeping the attention of your audience once you start talking is more difficult. Here are some methods used most to keep them Interested.

# 1: Relate the topic to the audience-

People pay attention to things that affect them directly if you can relate the topic to listeners they're much more likely to be interested in it.

# 2: State the importance of your topic-

Presumably you think your speech is important, tell your audience why they should think so too.

# 3: Startle the audience.

One sure fire way to arouse interest quickly is to startle all your listeners with an arresting or intriguing statement. This technique is highly effective and easy to use just be sure the starling introduction relates directly to the subject of your speech.

# 4: Arouse the curiosity of the audience-

People are curious. One way to draw them into your speech is with a series of statements that progressively whet their curiosity about the subject of the speech.

# 5: Question the audience-

Asking a rhetorical question is another way to get your listeners thinking about your speech sometimes even a single question will do.

# 6: Begin with the quotation-

Another way to arouse the interest of your audience is to start with an attention getting quotation. You may choose a choice from Shakespeare or Confucius, from the bible or Talmud, from Shakespeare, song, or film.

# 7: Tell a story-

We all enjoy stories-especially if they are provocative, dramatic, or suspenseful. To work well as instructions, they should also be clearly relevant to the main point of the speech. Used in this way, stories are perhaps the most effective way to begin a speech.

With this information you should be on your way to be writing some amazing intros. Good luck with your speeches!

Bee Movie and Beowulf Movie Review

Bee Movie Review

Bee Movie” stars a very talented voice cast led by Jerry Seinfeld, Mathew Broderick, and Renee Zellweger. This animated film takes place in New York City, where a bee by the name of Barry leaves his bee hive to explore the outside world.

Barry B. Benson (Jerry Seinfeld) has just graduated from college with his buddy Adam Flayman (Mathew Broderick). After Barry realizes that he will be working with the same job for the rest of his life, he decides to explore outside of the hive before he doesn’t have a chance to. Once Barry leaves the hive, but he breaks one very important bee rule: Never talk to humans. He meets a human by the name of Vanessa Bloome (Renee Zellweger), who saved his life. The two become close friends, but soon Barry finds out that the humans have been stealing honey from the bees for profit. He decides to sue the human race for stealing their honey.

Jerry Seinfeld adds some witty humor to a well mannered story about bees that will even amuse ones who aren’t fans of Jerry Seinfeld. This is a step towards great animation that adults will enjoy just as much as the children. Not a moment is dull in this sweet gift of a film. Although, some moments are absolutely ridiculous, those are overlooked considering all of the animated duds made this year. This is one of the better animated films of the year.

Bee Movie has all the special ingredients that make these films bearable for adults. It has a few big laughs scattered through the whole film. Jerry Seinfeld puts forth a worthy family film that has many clever moments. “Bee Movie” is funny, witty, and as sweet as honey.

A clever little animated flick that, in my humble opinion, puts a sting on “Ratatouille”. “Bee Movie” is sure to please kids as well as entertain adults with its clever ideas. Funny at times and has a talented cast. Spread the buzz around to those who found “Ratatouille” a bore.

Beowulf Movie Review

“Beowulf” stars Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robert Wright Penn, Brendan Gleeson, Crispin Glover, Alison Lohman, and Angelina Jolie. The film takes place in a village that is being disrupted by a beast. This is an adventure/fantasy that will be marveled only by its new age of animation.

“Beowulf” starts off with the village having a loud party that agitates the town beast, who has sensitive ears and goes by the name Grendal (Crispin Glover). The king (Anthony Hopkins) is tired of the destruction that Grendal has caused the town and calls upon the hero Beowulf (Ray Winstone). Beowulf then agrees to slay the beast. After his encounter with Grendal ends with Grendal missing an arm, Beowulf is unaware that the beast has an angry mother (Angelina Jolie) that he must face after slaying Grendal.

“Beowulf” puts the stunning animation that was used for “The Polar Express” to bloody good use. The problem with Beowulf is the remarkably bad dialog that produces a few unintentional (?) laughs. It was hard to tell if Robert Zemeckis was trying to make the film satirical on purpose. The only way to see this film is in theaters because the animation wouldn’t look as good on DVD. Strikingly entertaining as far as visuals go.

Another major problem with “Beowulf” is the ending, which I call a momentum stealer. It may have a connection with the story, but with such a slow paced ending to such a briskly paced film makes for a disappointing conclusion. As far as animation goes, this is the best I have seen all year. This is a huge leap from the poorly written and badly executed “Polar Express”, but still has it’s flaws that linger.

“Beowulf” is a visually captivating movie experience. There are two things that I couldn’t help but linger on. One is the laughably bad dialog, and the other is the ending takes away from the film’s energy. I will have to say that this film has one thing worth recommending, it’s thrillingly beautiful animation, and therefore fails as a whole.

Areas Of Your Life That Are Key To Living A Balanced Life

What are the keys to living a balanced life? How can we live our life to the fullest if one or more areas of our life go unfulfilled or neglected? For example, maybe you are successful in your career. But allow your family life to suffer? Or maybe you are a very informed person. But you allow your health to wither away.

To live your life abundantly, I believe there are certain areas of life you need to develop for balance in your life. Those areas would be mind, body, Belief system, career, and relationship.

Mind

Your mind deals with your desire to learn. In this fast-changing world, your ability to absorb new skills and information become ever more important. You have to build your intellectual hunger by building your personal development regime. This will not be easy, but it can be done.

Body

Your body is an area that deals with your physical health. Since your body is the means through which you conduct your actions, it is important to keep your body in tip-top shape. Not only will a healthy body prevent you from being sick, it will also help you thrive at a high-level to help you accomplish your duties with speed and passion.

Belief System

Your belief system is an area that deals with your integrity, values, and ideologies. It also deals with your relationship with the infinite. Your belief system is where your life purpose and meaning comes from. In my opinion, the fact that it gives purpose in life is vital to your existence. But it doesn’t mean that you should focus on only developing your belief system. Even if your belief system is strong, you won’t live your life to the fullest if you don’t balance the other areas in your life mentioned in this article.

Career

This area of your life deals with your career and achievements. This area has to do with the productivity in your life; your productivity is measured by what is accomplished during your career. If you want to be a productive person, you should increase your production in this area.

These essential areas should serve as the basis for you to build your life on. You will want a balanced growth in all these areas. You will want to allocate your time to each area equally. You should make periods of time for your belief system, mind, body, relationship, and career.

If you feel that you are under developed in a certain area, you will want to put more effort into that area. I have used this framework for years and I feel the benefits of doing so. Again, the key is balancing all areas of your life.

Relationship

This area deals with your relationships with your friends, family, and associates. Relationships are what make your life beautiful. The greatest feeling of fulfillment doesn’t come from your achievements; it comes from your relationships. You are only as good as the relationships you nurture, cultivate, and maintain.

This Indicator Warned Us Before Every Bear Market

Stocks are selling off. Is this the beginning of a bear market, or just a long overdue pullback?

Traders try to forecast market action with indicators. Some indicators are elaborate. Others are simple. Over time, the simple ones tend to be more useful.

This might be surprising. Many of us think Wall Street is using sophisticated tools to make money. It is.

As individuals, we can’t compete with its sophisticated techniques. That’s why day traders tend to lose money. Wall Street firms are trading in nanoseconds, and our data feeds can’t process information that quickly.

But big Wall Street firms also use simple tools to make money. Many long-term trend-following strategies use simple ideas. And we can use these same tools to ride big trends in the stock market.

The Advance-Decline Line

One tool many large firms use is the advance-decline line. The advance-decline line indicator subtracts the number of stocks that closed down every day (declines) from the number that closed up (advances).

If you look at the market action before significant declines, in each case, the A-D line was in a downtrend before the S&P 500 turned lower. This happened before bear markets that led to losses of 50% or more in 1972, 1999 and 2007. It also happened before the 1987 crash.

The A-D line simply counts how many stocks are going up. In a bull market, we expect most stocks to be going up. In a bear market, the majority of stocks should be going down. That is a simple idea, but, as the charts show, it’s an important indicator to follow.

Near market tops, we see fewer stocks going up. The index is moving up because just a few large stocks are producing gains.

In 2007, housing stocks and financials were still moving up after most stocks peaked.

In 1999, internet stocks were the market leaders while most stocks were in downtrends.

In 1987, traders were buying just the largest stocks for a strategy called portfolio insurance. That insurance failed spectacularly in October.

In 1972, the Nifty Fifty became popular, and investment managers bought just the 50 largest companies.

Narrow buying always leads to a sell-off. That means we should watch the A-D line for an advance warning signal of the next bear market.

The S&P 500 and the Advance-Decline line are in synch. As long as they remain in sync, a bear market is unlikely. We might see a pullback, which is a decline of 5% to 10%. But that will be a chance to buy more stocks and prepare for the next upturn.

The Culture Of Free In A Digital Universe

Who among us doesn’t like getting something for free? Whether times are tough or not most of us appreciate not paying for something we want or like.

The world wide web has taken this to new heights. There are all sorts of sites with all sorts of content which we access for free.

Music, Art, Entertainment, Books, Sports, Games… you name it. In fact, how many of you when faced with a pay-wall for premium content simply decide to go elsewhere? I know – I’ve done the same thing.

You probably have to really want the content to decide to pay for it, because in most cases you can get what you’re after somewhere else for free.

But this “free” content does have a price. The creators of the content certainly incur expenses in order to produce the content. So, how is it that there’s so much content available for “free”?

There are several dynamics at play. In most cases the owners of large web site operations are able to monetize the traffic they receive by selling advertising, which allows them to offer content for free.

If you’re able to prove that you get millions of visits each day, advertisers find this valuable and are willing to pay for the privilege of being visible on the site. Or they pay for the clicks they receive on the ads displayed on the site.

In order to continue to receive millions of visits each day, these sites require new and interesting content all of the time. After all, if the sites you visit have the same thing each day, you probably won’t frequent them very often. So, how do you solve the problem of acquiring new and interesting content continuously?

If you’re a News site – you rely on reporters to develop and report on stories as part of the news cycle. This is a very expensive operation, afterall the reporters have to be paid for their efforts. Some News sites rely on donations from their visitors to support their operations and conduct periodic fund raising campaigns to keep their operations going. Other sites are owned by larger organizations which consider it valuable to maintain a presence on the internet and can afford the news gathering effort although they still tend to sell advertising.

A number of the large social media sites discovered the best way to acquire new and interesting content continuously was to allow their visitors to provide the content themselves.

Every photo, post, update, etc. is content provided for free by the visitors and then monetized by the sites. Now this may seem like a pretty fair arrangement in this context. The visitors (you and me) get a nice site with all sorts of fresh content, we’re able to connect and share with friends, and they don’t charge us anything. It’s FREE! Yay us!

You may not think of yourself as a content creator – but broadly defined, when you upload photos, or post videos of your dog or cat doing dog and cat stuff, or make a post providing some of your life lessons – you are a content creator.

However, let’s think of content creators a bit more narrowly defined. Let’s look at Writers, Musicians, Singers, Artists, Videographers, etc. In many cases these content creators produce their content at great expense to themselves. If they are unknown content creators then one of their first tasks is to find a platform or forum to gain exposure for their content.

There are many specialized web sites which cater to these specific areas – whereby the content creator is enticed to provide their content for free to the site with the carrot being that they will gain exposure for their content and gather new fans of their work along the way. Many of these sites even provide a means for the content creator to sell their content directly to the visitors of the site. This sounds wonderful in theory.

The content creator gets to have their content exposed to lots of people, far more than the content creator might be able to reach on their own. The content creator has a platform to offer their content for sale to those who are interested, with perhaps a small cut to the website owner. A win for everybody, right?

Well, not quite. There’s still the culture of free to overcome. We visitors have become accustomed to receiving our content for free. And while we might like some content, maybe even like it enough to give it careful consideration, but when it comes down to clicking the “BUY” button, there’s a tendency to move on, because we don’t have to have it. And there’s more free content available somewhere else.

It is still a win for the site owner – because they are able to monetize the visits and sell advertising. However, in this scenario the content creator is left trying to figure out what they need to do to close the deal with the consumer.

Of course it is the job of the content creator to make their content as compelling as possible so that a consumer will deem it worth acquiring. But the Culture of Free is a difficult hurdle to overcome in this context. Prior to so much content becoming digitized, it was necessary to acquire it via whatever means of distribution was available. Absent that, there were not many legal free means of accessing or acquiring content – beyond free broadcast radio or television, or in the case of print media – heading to the newstand or the bookstore.

Content creators are faced with an ever expanding landscape where everyone is vying for attention and so much is offered for free it has the effect of devaluing the creative efforts of content creators. Some would argue that the cream will still rise to the top, even in this environment. And that content creators simply have to be more innovative with drawing attention to their work, and produce more compelling content.

Ultimately, I believe that content creators are far better served by taking all the steps that they can to direct traffic to their own websites. Content creators may still choose to make some of their content available for free to their visitors – but at least any monetization would benefit the content creators directly.

And yes, I do recognize the irony that this article will probably appear on some of the larger sites I refer to which aggregate content for free from content creators such as myself.

Five Major Symptoms of Internal Hemorrhoids

With most health conditions, the earlier you catch them the easier they are to treat. Internal hemorrhoids, of course, are no exception. The sooner you figure out that you’ve got them, the easier they are to fix up fast. However, most people run into a problem with this. How do you know internal hemorrhoids are there before they get serious? They start up inside the body and they originate from tissue that doesn’t have a lot of nerves running to it. That means that you usually can’t see or feel them until they are pretty far along. Fortunately, there are five big symptoms that ought to start you investigating.

The first big internal hemorrhoid symptom is bleeding. The vast majority of internal hemorrhoids will bleed at the slightest provocation. This happens because hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels surrounded by inflamed tissue. First off, the mucous membrane that they’re covered by is very delicate and has blood vessels quite close to the surface. Second, that tissue is, as already stated, inflamed, which means that it has a lot more blood in it than it usually would. Third, it’s a weakened portion of a vein sticking out into a passageway through which things have to move. Bright red bleeding is almost inevitable.

The second classification of internal hemorrhoid symptom is incomplete bowel movements. Internal hemorrhoids that are getting big can partially block off the passageway, meaning that part of the bowel movement gets stuck. You’ll have to complete the bowel movement in two or three stages. In addition to being highly unpleasant, the problem of incomplete bowel evacuation also increases the chances of infection. The bowel movement is blocked by the hemorrhoid, which means that the hemorrhoid can get fecal matter stuck to or around it, which is never a good combination.

The third big internal hemorrhoid symptom is closely related to the second, and it’s the feeling of having an incomplete bowel movement. The difference is that in the first example, you actually did not get everything out, while in this instance you just feel as though something is still there. It’s caused by the hemorrhoid itself pressing on the hemorrhoidal cushions that tell you when something is there and needs to be gotten out. Of course, the hemorrhoid won’t come out, but it puts that sort of pressure on the receptors all the same.

The fourth symptom you need to watch out for is persistent anal itching, the kind that lasts for days and won’t stop. This itching can be caused by a variety of things. Even when it’s caused by internal hemorrhoids, it still has a variety of secondary causes. To begin with, when internal hemorrhoids get irritated they start producing mucus. This mucus naturally exits to the outside of the body, sticks to the skin, dries out and itches terribly. Another way that internal hemorrhoids cause anal itching is by keeping the anal sphincter open just enough that a tiny bit of intestinal fluid and fecal matter can get out and irritate the skin.

The fifth and last early symptom of internal hemorrhoids is Stage II prolapse. This means that the hemorrhoid only leaves the body while you’re straining and pops back in all by itself. You can occasionally feel it when you wipe. It feels like a small, fleshy, moist lump that retracts all the way back into the body if you’re not straining.

These early warning symptoms can help alert you to a developing case of internal hemorrhoids. If you should have any of them and you’ve never had hemorrhoids before, you need to make an appointment with your doctor. Some of these symptoms, such as rectal bleeding, can also indicate much more serious health conditions. You need to make sure that you’ve got internal hemorrhoids and not something more serious. With luck, you’ll find out about your hemorrhoids early and get rid of them at home quickly.

The Importance of Family Love

I wonder if someone could explain this in words. No not at all, it is not easy to hold the weight of words describing family love. Yeah but someone can do the job nicely! The one who has departed from his family members or the one who is unable to see the beautiful faces of his parents and siblings. The one who has pulled up stakes from his family will surely realize later, that he has lost something worth caring. They all can feel the importance of Mother love in it’s intense form. They can realize the importance of father’s intimacy and the confidence of sharing tales with one’s siblings.

Though sometimes out of anger and wrath we behave unfriendly but it does not mean that we don’t care for each other. Family quarrels are bitter things but are of least importance. We should not care about these few bitter memories but rather we must think about the existing love within our family members.

Actually a family is the building block of a society. Many families when combined give rise to a social network. If the building block of a society is scattered then imagine the bitterness that spoils the whole society! But if the family members are linked to each other with the strong bonds of love and intimacy, a prosperous society will be developed.

Family members are amongst those few people in this present day world, who will genuinely worry about you. They will always be there for you, to fall back upon when you have been disillusioned with the outside world. Though at times it feels that they are interfering too much in your life, it’s only because they care for you. If sometimes you feel bad about them, do focus on your mistakes and errors and be sorry for them.

In family life, love plays the role of a magic bullet which helps you to overcome all the difficulties that come across your path. You are able to share all your sorrows and pleasures also with people who really love you and care for you! The love of your family is your ultimate confidence and strength, so take care of your family members and truly love them before it’s too late and you have to repent on your carelessness.

“There’s no vocabulary for love within a family, love that’s lived in but not looked at, love within the light of which all else is seen, the love within which all other love finds speech. This love is silent.”

Does Circumcision Decrease the Fertility of Sperm in the Male?

Is it possible that circumcision (removal of the foreskin) can cause a decrease in a man’s fertility over a man who has never been circumcised, all other factors being the same? Especially when one’s sperm comes from the testicles and not the penis. Is some degree of infertility connected to circumcision?

The research on circumcision on sperm quality and quantity has been under debate for some time. It appears that the medical community that profits from circumcision feels it won’t affect male fertility. Some in the medical community, researchers, and everyday people believe that it does. It appears that the verdict is split.

However, birth rates are much higher in countries where the men are predominantly uncircumcised. How is it possible that circumcision could affect fertility in the male?

The testicles hang outside of the body because sperm are very temperature sensitive. They have to be cooler than normal body temperature to survive. It is known that men have a higher quantity and quality of sperm in the colder months than in the warmer months. So men are most potent in the colder months. It is believed that in the hotter months, the sperm are damaged due to hot temperatures building up in a man’s underwear and, basically, cooking some of the sperm. This is why boxers are preferred over conventional underwear for sperm health. With tight underwear, the testicles are forced closer to the body. This damages the sperm from the elevated temperature of being up against the body.

So we understand that sperm are very temperature sensitive.

Now here’s where it gets interesting:

Circumcised men have a significantly higher resting temperature of their penises then men who are uncircumcised. Men who are uncircumcised have cooler penises than men who are circumcised. When either group becomes aroused, their penis temperatures rise to the same temperature.

There is no question that an uncircumcised man has a cooler penis than a circumcised man in the flaccid state. For some reason, removal of the foreskin is the reason for this. There seems to be some sort of temperature sensor in the foreskin that may control penile temperature. Removing the foreskin gets rid of this sensor.

It only takes a few temperature degrees of difference to damage sperm. As the penis is in close proximity to the testicles, it’s quite likely that a cooler penis would help keep the testicles cooler (Remember that men are more potent in the colder months of the year). Under these condition, if the testicles got too cold, they can always be retracted closer to the body.

But if the circumcised man has such a (relative) hot penis, what happens when this hot penis is bunched up in your underwear against your testicles? That’s correct… It will make the testicles hotter. So when the cremasteric muscles relax to allow the testicles to drop down as far as possible to get away from this heat… What happens? It doesn’t make any difference, as they are resting next to this “hot” penis.

Remember, it only takes a few degrees in temperature change to damage sperm.

The foreskin has many functions and this is one of them. Mother Nature gifted man with a foreskin for numerous reasons. One of those reasons keeps the penis cooler, there is no denying that. Could foreskin removal affect a man’s fertility? It certain seems feasible.

Now consider this: Circumcised and uncircumcised men have the same penis temperature on full erection, as we stated earlier in this article. So, clearly, there is a specific reason why a natural-uncircumcised penis remains at a cooler temperature during the flaccid state. When the penis is erect it is no longer in close proximity with the testicles, so penile temperature should not affect the testicular temperature at this phase (be the penis circumcised or uncircumcised).

Upon orgasm, the penis tends to retract more into the pelvis (at least with my experience). Due to the friction and increased blood flow that occurred during the sexual act, it makes sense that the penis will have an increase in temperature in a flaccid state post-sex than in a flaccid state previous to the sexual act. Could this retraction be another mechanism for the “heated” penis to steer clear of the testicles?

Perhaps one day we will have the knowledge to know how the foreskin is related to penile temperature.

Sperm Taste – 10 Simple Tips For Better Tasting Semen

Sperm taste is affected by what you eat, as are all secretions from the body.

It is a fact that your sperms taste can be improved and making your semen taste better, can be done with a few simple diet changes.

Diet has A major influence on sperm taste as it’s a secretion from the body like any other.

Just as your sweat can smell strongly after eating a heavily spiced meal your sperm will also reflect the spices in its taste.

The make up of sperm

Semen is made up of ninety percent (90%) seminal fluids including fructose (sugar) protein, and various trace minerals and nutrients.

The PH of semen is 7 and scientifically neutral, yet it tastes slightly acidic. Let’s take a look at the actual ingredients of semen.

A man’s ejaculate is actually only 1% sperm.

The rest is composed of various proteins, vitamins, sugars, salts, cholesterol, and water. All the extras are what protect, feeds, fuels the sperm in its journey.
